Senior Cafe provided by Family Service RochesterHealth and SafetyFamily Service Rochester serves lunch every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at noon in the Byron Community Education Center. Located at 630 1st Ave NW in Byron. To participate, please give them a call at 507-287-2010 any time before 2:00 the day before you want a meal. Diabetic dessert options are available. Meals are prepared without sodium. Bingo is offered the Third Wednesday of each month. Senior Cafe is funded by the Older Americans Act. The cost is $4 per meal. $3.50 per meal for persons 60+ with purchase of a 5-meal punch card. Sign Language CampMaster the Challenge/STEMCome and learn basic ASL vocabulary and practice talking with your hands! In this class, we will learn the signs for letters, numbers, sports, actions, and feelings! We will practice what we learn through storytelling, songs, movement, and other activities. Handouts will be sent home so you can practice what you learn with your family and friends! Disclaimer: This is not a class in American Sign Language, which has its own grammar and syntax and is very different from spoken English. Rather, I will be teaching ASL vocabulary, and helping children develop a basic understanding and appreciation for ASL that I hope will inspire them to continue to learn more in depth ASL in the future. Summer 2026 Reading TutoringMaster the Challenge/STEMLooking for Extra Reading Support for Your Child?Does your child need a little extra help building confidence and skills in reading? We’re excited to offer one-on-one reading tutoring with Mrs. Tracy Boyum, an experienced Reading Teacher at Byron Primary School. With many years of helping students grow academically, Mrs. Boyum is eager to work with a small group of students this fall. Tutoring Details: Open to students in Kindergarten through 5th grade 1-hour sessions held at Byron Primary School Flexible scheduling based on availability If you’re interested in tutoring for your child, please contact Mrs. Boyum directly at tracy.boyum@byron.k12.mn.us. She’ll answer any questions you have and let you know if space is available. If you choose to move forward, she will email you the code to register. After registration is complete, she’ll follow up to finalize your child’s schedule. You may sign up for as many sessions as you'd like and add more as needed. We recommend starting with six sessions to give your child a solid foundation. Please note that tutoring sessions are non-refundable. In the Tots program, we focus on developing "the whole child"—combining physical coordination with the social skills needed for a classroom setting. 🤸 What We Focus On Early Discovery: Introduction to basic gymnastics terms, body positions, and fundamental movements in a playful environment. Physical Foundations: Building the initial strength, balance, and coordination that serve as the building blocks for all future sports.
