About Health and Safety
We believe that safety is a skill set that can be practiced and perfected, giving both children and parents peace of mind as they grow more independent.
Key Program Highlights:
- Bike Rodeo: Students learn the "rules of the road," helmet fitting, and bike handling through fun obstacle courses that simulate real-world cycling.
- Home Alone & Personal Safety: For older elementary students, we cover the essentials of being home for short periods—answering the door, emergency phone calls, and basic kitchen safety.
- Future Caregivers (Babysitting Basics): An introductory look at looking after younger siblings or neighbors, focusing on basic first aid, entertaining toddlers, and "the business" of being a helper.
- Emergency Preparedness: We teach kids how to stay calm and follow a plan during unexpected events, making safety a habit rather than a worry.
- Drivers Education: Driver's education programs significantly enhance teen safety by equipping novice drivers with essential defensive driving skills, comprehensive knowledge of traffic laws, and the hazard-recognition abilities necessary to prevent common, high-risk accidents.
