Intermediate 2: The Transition Level

Master the momentum and prepare for advanced gymnastics!

The Byron Community Education Gymnastics program provides a fun, safe, and physically active outlet for kids. Intermediate 2 is the final stepping stone before our Advanced level, focusing on the high-level coordination needed for complex combinations and "big" skills.

🀸 What We Focus On

  • Intermediate Skills: Moving toward technical mastery with skills like cartwheels on the balance beam and back handsprings on the floor.
  • Flight Preparation: Strengthening the muscles and techniques required for the aerial movements found in the Advanced tier.
  • Skill Mastery: Continuing to work through the intermediate progression checklist to ensure total readiness for the final recreational level.

πŸ“‹ Class Details

  • Eligibility: Designed for athletes who have successfully completed Intermediate 1.
  • Transition Ready: This class serves as the final recreational stage at this time, preparing gymnasts for the "Advanced" curriculum and its 16-skill graduation requirements.
  • Independence: Athletes work independently with their coach, focusing on individual goal setting and grit.

πŸ‘Ÿ Attire & Safety

To ensure a safe experience and protect our specialized equipment:

  • Clothing: Leotards or singlets are encouraged. Shorts and T-shirts are allowed, but must not have buttons, snaps, or zippers.
  • Hair: For safety and visibility, all long hair must be pulled back securely in a ponytail.
