BHS Volleyball Youth Night Community CampVolleyballJoin the Byron High School Volleyball Teams and Coaching Staff for an exciting, high-energy 2-day camp designed to build skills and community connections! This camp focuses on fundamental skill development—including passing, setting, serving, and hitting—blended with fun team-building activities and interactive games. It is a fantastic opportunity for younger players to learn directly from the high school players, build confidence on the court, and form positive connections with the older student-athletes. As a special highlight, all camp participants will receive a t-shirt and an invitation to join HS players on the court for pregame during our BHS Volleyball Youth Night game in October! (Date TBD). This 4-session clinic covers everything from fundamental techniques to competitive strategies in a supportive environment tailored for ages 8 and up. What You'll Learn The Fundamentals: Master how to choose the right ball weight and grip, proper holding techniques, basic release styles, and manual scorekeeping. Skill Building: Learn reliable techniques for picking up spares, reading different lane oil conditions, and exploring alternative release styles. Next Steps: Get introduced to local league bowling options and learn how high school bowling programs operate. KarateSports and RecreationLittle Dragons for ages 5-7: This high-energy class introduces young students to the basics of martial arts through fun movement drills, beginner techniques, and structured games. Little Dragons focuses on building confidence, coordination, listening skills, and respectful behavior — laying the foundation for future martial arts training. Youth Beginner/White Belts Class for ages 8-12: Perfect for first-time students or new white belts, this class teaches the fundamentals of karate — including basic blocks, stances, kicks, and dojo etiquette. Students will improve focus, balance, and body control while gaining the confidence to progress in skill and rank. Youth Intermediate Class for White thru Green Belts: This class is for students ranked white belt through green belt. Students will continue their rank progression through one-steps, forms, blocks, kicks, and sparring foundations. Emphasis is placed on proper technique and memorization, along with American States Karate values and martial arts history. Teen & Adult Class for Beginning thru Green Belt: For teens and adults who are new to karate or ranked up to green belt. Students will learn one-steps, forms, blocks, kicks, and sparring foundations. Emphasis is placed on proper technique and memorization, along with American States Karate values and martial arts history. Advanced Class for Blue Belts and Above: This class combines advanced curriculum, sparring drills, pad work, and deeper exploration of martial arts techniques. Students will also study the principles of American States Karate, including belt color meanings and the origins of each form. Ideal for teens and adults continuing their martial arts journey. Bring to Class: Uniform and belt, plus a water bottle.
