There are no structured classes, instructors, or deadlines. Instead, we provide the tables, chairs, electrical outlets, and a warm atmosphere where you can make this space your own.How It Works: Bring Your Own Supplies: Work on knitting, crocheting, hand-sewing, leatherworking, fly tying, painting, air dry clay, paper crafts, sketching, whittling, or model assembly. Share & Connect: Work at your own pace, enjoy rich conversations, and share inspiration with fellow makers. Tidy Up Your Space: To help us keep our shared Community Ed room clean for the next group, please plan to spend the last few minutes of the session tidying up your personal crafting area. Registration: While the program is completely free, pre-registration is mandatory to ensure we have a comfortable seat reserved for you! Note: For crafters who paint or work with wet materials (paint, brushes), please keep in mind that there is no sink in the immediate classroom. Please bring your own water containers and utilize the restroom down the hall for filling or cleaning up. Additionally, because our classroom is fully carpeted, we kindly ask that you take extra care with liquids and consider bringing a small tray to protect the floor from accidental spills. Easy Loom Knitting: Make a Winter Scarf or Prayer ShawlJoin Penni from "Love is a Hug" to learn how to create your own winter scarf or prayer shawl. You will be able to take the skills learned at class and create endless projects at home using the same loom. We will be using a knitting loom in class.REQUIRED SUPPLIES: Please bring the following low-cost supplies to class. Loom: One round knitting loom and a hook. The loom will come with a hook. Not all looms are created equal. Here is the exact loom to buy for the class - Amazon link ($16.99). Yarn: One skein of weight #6 yarn (Approximate cost: $10.97) Need 220 yards in a color of your choice - see examples here Amazon Yarn or Walmart Yarn. Craft with Purpose: "Love is a Hug" Project creates beautiful prayer shawls for donation. Whether you are a total beginner or an experienced crafter, you will find this method relaxing and rewarding. In this hands-on workshop, you will master the basic skills needed to create a full-sized prayer shawl. This is an incredible way to turn just 90 minutes of your time into a meaningful gift of comfort and warmth for someone in need. "Love is a Hug" Project has already donated nearly 500 shawls, and your participation helps us continue our mission! All class proceeds will be reinvested into the Love is a Hug group to purchase more yarn for future donations. This class is for Grade 6 (age 12) and up.

Discover Your Creative Side: Open Pottery Studio Join us in the Makerspace Classroom for an inspiring open pottery studio experience! Perfect for all skill levels, this program welcomes those who have completed a beginner pottery class (wheel or handbuilding) and are familiar with basic techniques.MONTHLY PASSMonday-Friday Evening and Weekends! You will have access to the studio from 5-9 pm on Monday - Friday, and 8 am-9 pm on Saturdays and Sundays.WEEKENDS ONLY PASSYou will have access to the studio from 8 am-9 pm on Saturdays and Sundays.Open Studio potters will receive a FOB to enter the building (time restrictions/dates apply). There are a few dates when there are classes scheduled or dates with restrictions for public schools and therefore no open studio access. Unleash your creativity and craft something truly unique—your pottery journey begins here!Please bring your own clay tools. Clay must be purchased with your registration ($30 for 25 lb bag). Pick up your clay in the Makerspace. You can not bring your own clay. Bisque and glaze firing is included in the studio fee. Glazes will be available to participants after the initial bisque firing of projects. All items must be glazed by the end of the final open studio session. Discover the timeless pattern of the Log Cabin block in a supportive, collaborative setting! Join us to learn how to create a new quilt project that can be turned into an accent pillow, table runner, or create a custom tote bag. The iconic Log Cabin square is the perfect launchpad for new and begining sewers. This workshop for adults and youth (ages 13+) is designed to be a comfortable space to learn from others. Think of your instructor, and the other experienced sewers, as your guides. You’ll get to experiment with colors and layouts, all while enjoying the company of fellow sewers in a relaxed, encouraging environment. The instructor will demonstrate strip piecing to help you create several blocks at a time. By the end of our two sessions, you’ll have a completed 16" x 16" block (or more) and the confidence to turn it into a beatiful table runner or a fun bag! For a coordinated look: Bring a total of about 1/2 to 3/4 yard of fabric, cut into 2.5-inch wide strips of varying lengths. Where will your square take you? Your finished block is perfectly sized to be finished as a throw pillow cover, the front panel of a tote bag, or the very first block of a future heirloom quilt
