MAGA Competitive Gymnastics: The Performance Level

Join the Byron team and take your gymnastics to the competitive stage!

The Byron Community Education MAGA program is the highest level of our gymnastics offerings. This program transitions athletes from recreational learning to a competitive team environment, focusing on routine mastery, sportsmanship, and representing the Byron community at regional meets.

🤸 What We Focus On

• Competitive Edge: Developing high-level routines on all four Olympic events (Vault, Bars, Beam, and Floor) to be performed in front of judges.
• Technical Mastery: Focusing on the precision, form, and "sticking the landing" required for competitive scoring.
• Team Unity: Building strong bonds with teammates while learning the value of sportsmanship, discipline, and perseverance.

📋 Program Details

• Eligibility: This is an audition-based or invitation-only level.
• Prerequisite: Athletes must have successfully completed the Advanced recreational level or have been evaluated by the coaching staff.
• Commitment: As a competitive program, MAGA requires a higher level of attendance, travel for meets, and dedication to team practices.

👟 Attire & Safety

To maintain a professional team appearance and ensure safety during high-level maneuvers:

• Competition: Team leotards/warm-ups are required for meets (details provided upon registration).
• Practice: Leotards or singlets are highly encouraged. Shorts and T-shirts must not have buttons, snaps, or zippers.
• Hair: All long hair must be pulled back securely in a professional ponytail or bun.
