Beginning Band Summer Camp
GOALS: Our goals for these sessions is for students to learn how to put together their instruments, basic maintenance of instruments, forming an embouchure, and how to create a sound on instruments! This camp is so we can start off running when it comes time for the school year to start!
WHEN: Thursday, August 20th and Friday, August 21st
TIME: Instruments will each have a certain time to make sure the same instruments are grouped together. We don’t want different instruments in the same class. Each session is 45 minutes long.
THURSDAY, AUGUST 20th SCHEDULE
- 9:00am - 9:45am - Flutes/Oboe
- 10:00am - 10:45am - Clarinets
- 11:00am - 11:45am - Alto Saxophones
- 1:00pm - 1:45pm - Trumpets
- 2:00pm - 2:45pm - Trombones and Baritones
- 3:00pm - 3:45pm - Percussion
FRIDAY, AUGUST 21st SCHEDULE
- 9:00am - 9:45am - Percussion
- 10:00am - 10:45am - Trombones and Baritones
- 11:00am - 11:45am - Trumpets
- 1:00pm - 1:45pm - Alto Saxophones
- 2:00pm - 2:45pm - Clarinets
- 3:00pm - 3:45pm - Flutes/Oboe
ATTENDANCE: Optional for 6th grade students who are signed up for band next year. They are more than welcome to do both days but each session covers the same topics.
MATERIALS NEEDED: Students attending our Intro to Band camp will need their own instrument with the needed supplies. Please refer to this Band Supplies document to see what is needed for each instrument.
